I entirely disagree. People make comments time and time again about the resource being the primary concern.

But how management handles this is a primary concern also - and stakeholder communication is key in any project- particularly when things aren't going the way everyone expected. With so much at stake one would think that having someone spend half a day preparing an announcement once a fortnight or month is well worth it in my eyes. If they don't communicate it just further reinforces concerns about management being nontransparent and "shady".
