Hi Sally
My advice:
Best you learn how to calculate market capitalistion, which is the total value of a company.
(1) find the most recent Appendix 3B statement in the companies announcements.
(2) add up the number of shares and options on issue
(3) multiply the # of shares by the share price, to give you the market capitalisation
(4) find the amount of cash the company has at the end of the most recent quarterly cash flow report
(5) multiply the amount of options on issue by their exercise price (found in the appendix 3b or at the end of the quarterly cash flow report)
(6) subtract the amount of cash in the bank and the amount of cash that can be gained from options from the market capitalistion to give you an "undiluted market capitalisation"
(7) then compare the market capitalisations of the different companies
good luck
