Anning is a senator only because his predecessor was found ineligible to serve. Had he stood as an independent rather than trying to sneakily piggyback off the One Nation brand, he would not even have got in on preferences as Phelps did. Almost nobody wanted him to be a senator and he will not be re-elected next time.
