    I reckon you might find that a lot of the spam coming from smspup may also be getting filtered out at the ISP's end through their spam filters. Hence you don't receive a lot of it. Either way, I always stay away from companies that use IMO morally objectionable methods to make money, spam/advertising (even when consented) being one of those methods.
