Hotazel, the Chinese are probably very numb right now (and the Merrill boys even more numb).
If Jindal's (as part of a Indian consortium) makes a bid, it can do so without the Congo permit as per the economy of scale of their combined Cameroon assets. But Congo could also disappoint the Chinese and fall into line with Cameroon and issue a neutral permit to Sundance anyway.
If the Chinese think a Congo permit can be the spanner throw into the works, then they could be in for a rude shock.
Poison pills won't work against an Indian consortium and would intensify China-India tense relations.
This leaves China only way out is to OUTBID any bid at ANY price. (Assuming there is an Indian counter-bid per se).
