They certainly take a loner term view than our politicians, who are only interested in short term vote-winners. The chinese are also making big investments in our resources sector, so profits (more importantly pricing power) will increasingly flow to them from this.
Australia has been out-negotiated every time with FTAs. The one with the US is overwhelmingly in their favour and costs us billions annually.
A China FTA could be even more dangerous.
