Brown coal power stations produce as much as 1400g CO2e/KWh in developing countries....the countries that want to make Coldry.

Latrobe valley lignite fired power stations state gross numbers closer to 1200g CO2e/KWh but this is not nett. 8gJ/T feedstock.

Black coal with a 24gJ/t feedstock produces around 860g CO2e/KWh

Gas fired is about 750g

But all of this is quite meaninless without nett co2 footprints and capex and opex numbers....Not to mention the little thing about what appropriate resourse we will have to exploit ...

Now you do some homework...it's not hard...the stats are on the ect website.....whats the calorific value of Coldry


But even these stats MUST be understood with their capex and opex ratios...

When a poster comes up with something as myopic as billions for a 10% CO2 saving,it is totally dimentionless as meaningless..qed.

These are just some of the concepts that are relevant to thinking outside the square.....

There is a whole new market....a market where a particular country can build a power station away from any particular brown coal field, and build cleaner black coal fired power stations, powering them with stablised, refined, upgraded coal..

The VC contract is about them middle manning bce to extant markets that they see trending into supply deficit in the near future.

CO2 benefit is not the commercial focal point with prospective northern buyers....but it's there anyhow.
