Woollydog, I was talking more about those that haven't thought it through. If your share portfolio is a significant portion of your house value (and it's not on margin) then you could get yourself out of the sh1t quick if needed. You have obviously done the numbers and figured out what makes sense for you.

Someone owing 100% of a half million dollar house on the average aussie wage with no other assests is far to common right now, and probably unsustainable imo, especially if teh house market rolls.
