I do understand and I do not care. Even the first article says "To be fair, I suppose that perhaps Macfarlane is hoping that some sort of breakthrough in the technology of hydrogen production will occur in the near future."
The purpose of the Hyundai launch was to"... spark a debate about hydrogen with government and industry and eventually lead to the establishment of a nationwide refuelling network and the widespread availability of FCEVs at an affordable price." see: Hydrogen not hybrids motoring.com.au also Federal minister backs hydrogen.
At least on HC the comments have achieved the debate bit. Thanks Tristanc for your courteous reply & sierra for the OP, it prompted me to look further.
