Until we understand a thing, its operation is magic. ie a wonder because we have no foundation on which to build an understanding of its operation. To a primitive an automobile must look to us as the idea of time travel.
Note I could have said something like endless energy from nuclear fusion rather than time travel. I didn't because even though you and and I might not understand the actual physics that underlies it nuclear fusion, we can accept that it could work because we know enough about physics to accept the possibility. Time travel on the other hand has no basis that we know of and remains magic.
With regard to the creation of our little inhabited planet we're pretty much in the same boat though, I would argue that it's a little less magic than say, time travel.
