out of all the stocks to go bust during the great bear market of 08/09, none surprised me more than cmr...
their debt levels were fairly modest really if you compare to other resource companies that supposedly are sitting on top class deposits & on the cusp of production.
just before going under i recall reading a cmr announcement which showed photographs of copper that had been produced from their plant. given the big spike in copper prices since cmr went belly up i have to wonder what would/could have happened if they could have just kept their doors open 2-3 months longer.....
i guess it comes back to the quality of management. surely with decent people running this ship it could have been salvageable/or if not flourished when the economny recovered. really, really surprised this failed so dramatically - were management straight out of school or what????
