Well now that does it!
I was going to post this earlier but refrained. Here's what you really should be doing with that Lindt Poyndexter. Easiest dessert recipe and a sure fire winner for your next candelight supper. (Guaranteed to impress the ladies).
Chocolate Mousse with Sesame Snaps
Recipe courtesy Jamie Oliver
8 ounces (200 grams) good quality dark chocolate, bashed up (particularly 85% Lindt!)
2 1/2 ounces (70 grams) butter, cut into pieces
12 fluid ounces (350 millilitres) heavy cream
2 large eggs, preferably organic
2 tablespoons Scottish Heather honey (bit poncey - so go for a couple of tablespoons of Barnes Honey or similar)
1 tablespoon Scottish whiskey (ditto the poncey bit - go for something similar - even Grand Marnier works well)
1 pound (455 grams) caster sugar
8 tablespoons butter
7 ounces (200 gram) sesame seeds
In a bowl over some gently simmering water, slowly melt the chocolate and butter together then remove from the heat.
In a separate bowl, whip the cream to soft peaks.
In a third bowl, whisk the eggs and honey until light and fluffy then fold in the whisky (or other alcohol), melted chocolate mixture and cream, gently, so you don't lose too much air. Pour into small chilled 4 or 6 wine glasses or serving dishes and chill for at least an hour before serving.
I usually haven't got time to fiddle with the wine glasses so I usually plop the lot into a toffee tin leftover from Christmas or failing that a crystal bowl from the Op shop works well too).
Enjoy,
Tangrams
PS: Still related to your waistline but probably nicer for me to contemplate.
