above, i offered a 'personal' way of coping with death, namely, the continual expression of gratitude towards our loved one's that have left both us & their legacy/imprint on us
many religions use this personal method & even teach our loved one's survive after death (in heaven or reincarnation) as a coping strategy
however, there are 'impersonal', 'naturalist' or 'atheist' ways of coping with death, namely, realising what we conventionally call 'our life' is actually merely the creation of Nature, which is sustained by Nature and inevitably is decomposed/decayed by Nature
if we think about 'our' life, how it came to be & exists, it was merely once a clot of blood in our mother's womb
this clot of blood grew because our mother consumed food (such as bread, milk, meat, fruit, etc) and then after our life was born from her womb, it was sustained & grew due to consuming food from Nature (such as bread, milk, meat, fruit, etc)
if we did not consume food (such as bread, milk, meat, fruit, etc) from Nature & breathe in oxygen from Nature, there would be no life
so an 'impersonal' or 'naturalistic' way to cope with death is if the mind has the view that life is simply a product & creation of Nature and its proceeds according the Way or Laws of Nature towards inevitable decline & death
imagine if there was no death? how overpopulated would the Earth be? it would be like a polluted river than never gets flushed out clean
it is possible to be humble, realistic or clear enough to see what we (mistakenly) regard as 'our' or 'my' life is merely just Natural substances and Natural creation
the above is the atheists curse
many atheists boldly reject religious belief of an afterlife yet have not prepared their mind for inevitable Natural death
