    A business can charge what it wants as long as it can prove they are recovery costs.

    Amex is only accepted by majors. Coles/Woolies and their ilk never charge.

    Paying utilities on line is hit miss so I'll be curious to see who the rip off merchants are. I don't recall which but one was dropping the charge for V/MC but upping it for Amex. Must chase that up as that's a type of rip off to absorb the free into the other.

    Can you or someone in a small business explain the 'extra costs' in accepting cards above the card providers' cost. I notice a till receipt needs to be stapled to the card receipt so staples are a cost, extra bulk in filing.
    Handling cards reduces banking and risk of hold ups and security for holding cash.
