how do you kill ivy?

    Hi Folks

    A third of my backyard has been swallowed up by ivy. I don't water this area and the bugger is drought resistant. I have tried Round-up a few times but find you have to re-apply 3-4 or even more times. It isn't very good. Anyone had success with another method?
