@beefarmer; physical health issues pretty much rule out long distance plane trips for me these days.

I should have added to that list the spread of respiratory infections caused by airlines not maintaining enough fresh air replacement / detoxifying cabin air.

I note today that a young boy has recently returned to Australia with Avian Flu with authorities assuring us human to human transmission isn't an issue - next thing we hear a poultry farm near Ballarat is fully infected and has had to slaughter hundreds of thousands of birds.

There was a time when health checks / quarantine of incoming passengers was taken seriously, since the advent of Border Force its become a very sick joke with the Coalition constantly bleating about 'cutting red tape'.
