and that is where the 'property is an illiquid instrument' argument falls down
sure, property is illiquid if you want to sell it on your terms
unfortunately, once the banks step in, it is very liquid in that the property ceases to be yours and is now controlled by the bank
and you dont have a say in the matter once you default
