Magnium has partnered with the CSIRO to commercialise their Magsonic zero emission process to produce magnesium. Magnium have Wa, VIC and Federal government support and have identified sites to build plants where deposits of magnesite are available. The first is expected to be completed in Rockhampton by 2029.
Magnium envisage they will be able to supply half of Australia's magnesium requirements when the first plant is up and running. they also claim to have significant overseas interest to build plants.
They are well behind but worth the discussion?
