i agree with you about the transaction account. and just last week i was fooled to think i had more than i actually had, and without thought bought more shares than my actual funds i had in the account.. biggest mistake... im not sure what commsec will do if i dont have the right amount of funds in the account, but i had already transfered an amount to cover the cost of the shares...
not too sure if that transfer will come in time for settlement, which is tomorrow..
i have to be more cautious!

your comment had me thinking, is it possible to invest in more shares than the amount of funds in your account:
example:
A/C balance: $2000
Buy share: $10 000 at 15th Feb t+3 = 18
Sell Share: $12 000 at 15th Feb t+3 = 18
is that allowed? its naked short selling isnt it..
