Well nasty things only happen if you expose yourself too much. The key to investing is to either always view it as a game (and thus only put in as much money as your willing to lose) or stick your money in an index fund. Over managing your money is fun but it reduces your chances to out perform the market(I, like most people on here, over manage my money and when i'm lucky outperform dramatically, but sometimes those index funds lumber past me :P)
