Yellowcake, i have read with interest your posts and find them informative.

while what is said is right, i have to ask the simply question of why does it all seem to fall on the west for this problem to shoulder the blame. africa a country with vast potential which in the past, under colonial rule, was self sustaining can not come to the for front and be net producer rather than net consumer. Places like Mozambique, Rhodesia (as it is easier tospell)are two countries that due to idealogial views have become basket cases were previously they were bread baskets. In additon, parts of south africa's rich farmlands are not producing because the male population has died of aids.

With the aid etc being provided, we need to teach them to farm rather than rely on handouts which only make the dicators wealth through corruption. But to do this we need to change the property system through out africa to give title to persons. however to do this will dismantle the tribal system of inheritance dominating polictics rather than the smartest and strongest making the country work.

Given the expereinece to date africa is doomed as idelaogical and tridal views will ensure the least effective methods of production. But again the west is to blame for not doing enough.
