I'm on ADSL 2+. Speedtest puts it at 12Mbps. The latest GoT took 6 minutes for a 400Mb file.
Anyone uploading 10MB photos for friends to view needs to be slapped. 400 - 800kb is more than adequate.
Just like the 'e' revolution may have changed the way we do business, it didn't change it as much as people thought it would. Fast technology is one thing but the bottleneck will always be people.
Working at home didn't really take off like many thought it would, simply because people need to interact with people. As Yahoo just found, give people an inch without adequate oversight and productivity actually decreases.
Some roles will benefit from a stay at home perspective, but they will be specialised roles, not required by 98% of the population.
