Anyway, cash generation is the amount of cash generated by the business, obviously it doesn't include capital raising, borrowing and is pre dividends."Net" is pretty clear as well. It means what it says. After paying all cash costs which would include so called development capex and exploration.
Net cash generated by be simply taken from accounts without adjustment. It is very different from free cash flow which takes net cash flow and adds back what is considered to be one-off expenditure. Many companies unfortunately talk about free cash flow but never actually generate any net cash flow. Gold miners are kings of this.
The phrase that really is undefined is NST's very own and original "surplus" cash. Anyway, that is forgotten now! I see they are talking free cash flow as their long term guidance and they have given up on giving short term guidance.
