Firstly, he won the unwinnable election. Everybody wrote him off but he believed in himself, and won. Well done. Not long after the election, he book's himself a holiday with family friends for a christmas break.
Secondly, When the bushfires first broke out, he quietly visited people in QLD and northern/central coast NSW. He liased with state premiers and got the ADF involved, and quietly went on with his business. He did what is expected of him to do. Not much fanfare, just quietly doing his job like any other Australian PM before him. It is the RFS people that needed the recognition, not the PM. Well done.
Thirdly, when the bushfire's got out of control, social media cried " Where are you Scotty"?. The nation cried for him to return. Scotty returned early but 2 state premier's stayed away on holiday's. Social media didn't like him enjoying a christmas break with family and friends so they used Scotty vent their anger. Scotty coped it from social media, the far left media, like the ABC, and of course the the far left political parties. Saying "It's climate change and it's your fault". The world media and celebrities got involved as well. The common theme is that climate change caused the bushfire's and it is Scotty's fault. No mention of the 200 people who were caught lighting the fires, Nope, not their fault. But Scotty just quietly continued on with his business of dealing with the bushfires. Well Done Scotty.
Fourthly, Scotty travelled around the fire effected areas of Australia, speaking and listening to everyone from farmers, retirees, business people, unemployed people, the RFS people and normal average Australians but also the "houseo's" ferals from Victoria. I think he needed Pauly there to translate for him!!! Scotty is the man for ALL Australian's. Well done.
Fifthly, since Scotty's return, the bushfires are under control and the weather has cooled. If it is climate change that everybody thinks caused the bushfires, and it is Scotty's fault, then Scotty should be thanked for the rain we got last night and the cooler weather we now have on the Gold Coast. The climate change arguement cuts both way's so big thank you Scotty. Well done.
Sixly, Calling a royal commission into the fires and national/state forest management is long overdue. I hope the forest are opened up for the public to use again. Well done.
One last thing I might add is since Scotty has returned, everything is back under control. There was no knee jerk reaction to the fires and the attacks on his government and himself personally. He just got on with doing his business. If EVER there was a need for 4 - 5 year term for the PM, this guy just earned it.
