..."Woodside’s environmental assessment report notes the endangered hawksbill, vulnerable leatherback and vulnerable loggerhead turtles may live in the deep waters of the Senegal development area.Critically endangered Atlantic humpback dolphins, three species of endangered whale (blue, fin and sei whale) and the vulnerable sperm whale are also found in the Senegalese waters. Short-finned pilot whales and bottlenose and spinner dolphins are found around the proposed site. The assessment notes concerns that discharges may affect fisheries and the thousands of households in the Senegalese capital, Dakar, that depend on fishing. The assessment says carbon dioxide emissions from the proposed development for the life of field are estimated to be 8.9m tonnes. Annual emissions would amount to 5% of the total carbon emissions for Senegal in 2014. Woodside insists it will have mitigations and controls in place to reduce emissions."

as Joint Venture Partners WPL, FAR and CNE have some responsibilities to the the local environment where they will produce oil & Gas in Senegal
    - what are the mitigations and controls in place at SNE?
    - do any of us investors know about them?
    - has anything ever been formulated by JV partners yet?

as investors how many of us 'feel' responsible enough regarding the environment around Senegal and WA where Far have leases?
making money from shares is the first goal for all investors that's a given
I wonder how many/if any of us have made any conscientious reflections on the consequences of our investments affecting the Senegalese environment at all?
is investing in FAR 'Ethical" ?
I know FAR does lots of good work on the field for the communities in Senegal.

just a reflection that money leads us to waste a lot of time on HC to defend or grumble a lot about PE and 'stuff' whilst there are other issues we should also consider as investors...
can we see further beyond the screen in front of us?
as Australian we like to save a lot animals within our borders but do we forget about that ounce we go overseas to explore and produce oil?
How 'Green' are we really? a long term and happy holder looking over the screen!
