To be honest directors ALWAYS find ways to get shares via options, share options. So its hard to compare a private individual investor with the insider information they have. Infact when the share price surges (whenever that happens) directors will give themselves bonuses, share options even when it doesn't relate to any decision they have made but rather the macro environment suites they're business. They will always take the credit.
