My estimation of Finkel has dropped considerably.
This article feels like he was leaned on late Sunday by the PMs department looking to throw a bone to those who think we need to take climate change seriously.
He duly produced this.... It is weak on substance and the argument for CCS is almost nonexistent.
But he makes it anyway.

“When hydrogen is produced via the renewable electricity pathway (solar, wind or hydro) there are no carbon dioxide emissions. But, when hydrogen is produced via the fossil fuel pathway, carbon dioxide is emitted as a by-product. It is therefore necessary to capture and store the carbon dioxide, deep underground, so that it does not escape into the atmosphere.”
