yes, there are homeless people in our rich society that many of us don't get to see.
Many years ago when I was living in Melbourne, for some months I went out, as a volunteer helper, every Thursday night with the Society of St Vincent de Paul (spelling /) soup van. The van left the Society's place at about 7.30 pm (from memory) with its sandwiches and hot soups, and it did its routine round to the various places in Melbourne where the homeless people used to gather and slept for the night. One place was the GPO, another was the Victoria Market. Most of them slept in cardboard boxes. The van came back to base around mid night.
Yes, there are hopeless people in our cities who we don't get to see in our daily going-on.
