GetRich quick, if money is the only thing in your skull then you're doing the wrong thing by ignoring immigrants. You'd get richer, quicker (sick!!!!) by allowing a larger market, larger number of businesses, larger employment, larger economy, larger financial pie, larger share of that pie.
If being humane is also in your skull, then again you'll gain financially (yuk!) because the immigrants will make contacts (and therefore markets) with more places on the globalised world and Australia will be known as a benign country to deal commercially with.

But, thick skull, all of this is out of your reach because the businesses that want cheap labour will force the government's hand and they'll HAVE to import people EVEN before these people will ask to be refugees.
The fruit pickers are already hammering at the doors of the MPs demanding that they bring labour into this country. No matter where from. Farmers of all sorts are also doing the same. What little manufacturing industry we have left, is also at the MPs' doors.

So forget the racist, Fortress Australia BS.
Watch Johnny Howard's little lips. It'll take a crow bar to open them but open they will and his rhetoric (read hear publicity spin and BS) will change drastically.
