re: how skilled immigration exploits 3rd world No argument can deny a sovereign country the right to choose who enters their country.

Australia is quite within its rights to ask for confirmation from asylum seekers that the facts of their situation complies with their claim for asylum. Otherwise all sorts of criminal elements could seek "asylum".

Their is an strong element of gross irresponsibility exhibited by those who argue that the doors should be "thrown wide open" to whoever.

Not even Cuba would do that, why even Iraqi "insurgents" are bombing fellow Iraqis to free "their" country from foreign occupation, so why should we allow any number of anonymous foreigners in?
