I often go to an old Big W store and it's a disgrace.
Years ago Myers decided to build in the shopping centre and Woolworths, in their wisdom, must have decided not to spend a cent on the store until the rebuilding was complete. The trollys are wrecks, usually only two checkouts working.
My "local" is a Woolies pub too. The ceiling is still nicotine brown years after smoking was banned. They built a new Dan Murphy's but stopped spending at the carpark edge. The older building is a mess. Pubs run by bean counters don't work.
