    Dex,

Cast your mind back to the last election campaign.

    Turnbull was the “invisible man”
Shorten was in the media all the time.
Nearly every morning on the ABC there was an interview ( often quite lengthy)
with Shorten at some location or another, together with nodding Tanya and the local candidate.
He was well briefed by his team and put the ALP spin on the local issues,
and covered any other issues that arose.
And the newspapers were full of photos and items of him campaigning right
    around the country.
The ALP propaganda/ publicity / media machine was well organised and made sure
there were numerous photo and interview opportunities every single day.
And the journalist lapped it up and regurgitated it,
with lead stories to the great unwashed.

I wondered if the Libs even had a media team!
Because if they did, the team was an epic failure.
    As was Turnbull.

The contrast between the Libs / Turnbull
and Labor/ Shorten could not have been more stark.

One of my friends and his wife were overseas during the entire campaign, and I
reported to them on several occasions that Turnbull was nowhere to be seen and
the Libs were in danger of losing.

The result should never have been so close.
At the time I blamed Turnbull 100%
for his total lack of political skill, public awareness and common sense
in heading up the liberal party with what was a non existant campaign.

    So here we go again!
Sometime between now and May 18th 2019

Turnbull does have a good story to tell.
He had done a few good things lately.
And there are plenty of conflicting / contradicting positions
by Shorten that the Libs can highlight.

But he didnt do any of this last time.

As far as “selling” the Liberal story, or scoring points against labor,
based on the last year or so,
    nothing has changed.
And I’m not confident that this will change come the next election.

And Shorten will win with a significant majority.
