( excluding dividends & just based on s/p ) in 2001 you would be down more than 50% on your investment - has gone from $14 to less than $7. i know AMP has had a capital return somewhere in the past 8 years but it was nowhere near $7. AMP probably bought too many at the peak and now are getting out at lows because they think there are better opportunites. this is what some of these funds typically do ( cut ties when they make a mistake ) - and if you based your investment strategy around what these funds did you wouldn't be very successful. DYOR because it will save you from making stupid decisions.
