I tried to do the same thing, ie open a new account to buy some more XPED so I could take part in the SPP, but was told by IG (ig.com.au) that even though the CR / SPP needs to be approved by the EGM, it will still only be available for people on the register as at 16th November, the day it came out of the Suspension.
Reason this came to light was with IG you can open up multiple accounts no problem, but when I asked do they have separate HINs and I explained that it was for XPE SPP they said my strategy would not work. If anyone knows different, I would love to know, as I imagine there would be many of us with the same idea!
