I don't understand why Acrux has switched to sitting around waiting for "externally sourced opportunities". That's not where Axiron came from - they raised the money to push that through trials themselves - and up until a year ago they seemed pretty keen on progressing the other products in their pipeline. Now there's just silence.
There may not be any internal products as compelling as Axiron - they went after the best opportunity first, obviously, and for $20m that was a huge bargain - but a project even half or a quarter or possibly even a tenth as profitable would still be worth pushing through.
