    1. Mt Gee is within Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary.
    Sanctuary Status must be removed, or Mt Gee Annexed.

    2. Mt Gee is on the Register of the National Estate,
    Permission required. Other listings may also be affected.
    Yudnamuthana Gorge and Arkaroola Gorge in particular.

    3. An Aboriginal Sacred Site exists in Arkaroola Gorge.
    Arkaroola Gorge is near the base of Mt Gee.
    Water runoff from Mt Gee flows in to Arkaroola Gorge
    Major opposition from Aboriginal groups likely.
    The site is a Male Inititation Site


    4. Mt Gee is classified by SA Planning Laws as Flinders Ranges Class A. Mining is not permitted unless the project is of national significance.
    National significance status cannot be given if a similar deposit or mine exists nearby.
    What effect does Beverley have on Mt Gee?

    5. Arkaroola is a Major Tourist attraction, The "Ridge Top Tour" goes to Mt Gee on the way to Sillars Lookout. Tour Operators, and the SA Tourism Industry are likely to object to this development.

    6. A number of rare plants and animals exist in the area. More approvals needed.

    7. Under an Agreement with Arkaroola Wildlife Sanctuary, Marathon's Exploration should not disrupt the major source of income for Arkaroola Sanctuary (tourism).
    Marathon have agreed only to drill after the October Long Weekend, and before Easter.
    This may affect further drilling campaigns and development.

    It should be noted that B4M is classified as Flinders Ranges Class B, It is not heritage listed, It is outside Arkaroola Sanctuary.
