I think it got a little lucky with the break off of the t/o of rio. There was clearly a switch when rio fell back and bhp jumped 7.5 percent in a day. Dont know if this actually true, but apparently a lot of hedge funds got caught with the failed takeover, meaning they had to unwind there positions which made bhp rise further than it should have and rio drop further than it should. Then you have people forced to close out there shorts and that to me accounts for the 50 odd precent increase in a week. Just my thoughts. And people say shorts are bad...lol
