You are being simplistic: compare apples with apples.
Other companies 'better'(sic) than Minemakers have debt they cannot finance. MAK have no debt and AUD13M to play with before they are on their knees. In the sort of climate you're proposing, they will outlast many of the companies on the ASX, and many people around the world will be going hungry.
