REEs are used as components in high technology devices, including smart phones, digital cameras, computer hard disks, fluorescent and light-emitting-diode (LED) lights, flat screen televisions, computer monitors, and electronic displays. Large quantities of some REEs are used in clean energy and defense technologies.
The main products of LYC are light rare earths including praseodymium/neodymium – PrNd; cerium – Ce; lanthanum – La; LaCe – lanthanum cerium solutions, and medium/heavy rare earths (samarium, europium, gadolinium – SEG and other Heavy Rare Earths – HRE) solutions.the
Rare earth elements uses, 2021The largest use is in magnets (43.2%), followed by catalysts (17.0%), polishing powders (11.2%), metallurgical (7.1%), glass (6.4%), battery alloys (3.6%), ceramics (3.0%), phosphors (0.5%), pigments (0.3%) and other products (7.6%).
