The commission is hearing that Freedom may have engaged in misconduct and unconscionable conduct in breach of the ASIC Act.
It may also have breached parts of the Corporations Act.
The company did not adequately manage conflicts of interest and may have also breached the Corporations Act through elements of its remuneration, including prizes and bonuses.
In all, there are seven ways in which Freedom may have broken the law, on multiple occasions.
There are also multiple ways in which its conduct fell below community standards.
Ms Orr argues that the company's culture and remuneration practices were behind much of the misconduct.
