If SGH find out the ASIC date before the report is issued, they should immediately put on a trading halt. (a) that is absolutely legitimate and the very purpose of the trading halt, and (b) it stops shorts covering just before the ASIC report comes out thus making them operate on a slightly more level playing field alongside everyone else when the news does come out. It might even be to their advantage, of course, eg. if the report is negative. [The playing field will never actually be level while short-selling is permitted. I have given the reasons in earlier comments].
