A quote I remember from a savvy investor around the crash of 87 said something about whenever you ask yourself how low can this stock go, it will always go lower. The opposite is the same, how high can this go and you guess it, it will always go higher. That's why it's better to chase when a stock is on the rise than when it's falling. The idea is try to average up, not down.
