So, 4,246,418 shares have been traded in 9 days prior to today.

Including today (344,382 thus far) it's 4,590,800, let's say 4.6M.

Versus 68M new shares, and not all of the 4.6M would be new.

Not too bad volume-wise considering, especially considering how bad the overall market has been ... a lot of desperation out there. However, even a relatively small proportion of the new shares (and others selling as a response) has obviously had a devistating effect on the SP.

I think today's bounce is just because of the overall market's relief, and less desperation. Possibly even some investors more willing to sell other stocks at higher prices to pick up the existing PLT bargain (as I've done, but I didn't wait until today).

It'll go lower again unless the DOW keeps rising or PLT come out with a new announcement (not necessarily anticipated atm, but you never know, plenty of balls up in the air).
