    It's a bit hard to predict the expected life of evs. We see recently Elon Musk talking of the ' million mile ' battery. It would make sense to build that battery into the car as it should last the life of the car.

    That's conventional car thinking of course.

    But, with evs, already they are looking at battery module replacements as sometimes it is only a few cells that fail and if replaced, gives a whole longer life to the pack.

    Then there's the recyclability of the evs that is different to ice cars. There is more focus on making evs recyclable from scratch. Particularly recycling the battery pack. Tesla and Nissan already have programs in place. There will be huge demand for second hand battery packs as stationary storage.

    Finally, there is still new battery tech. It is expected at some point for batteries to be incorporated into the structure. Parts of the frame will actually be the battery.
