Your example shows how simply problems can be solved with EV's and for free while you sleep as a software upgrade.

The maintenance costs for Teslas are eye watering considering they are only a recommendation and 'optional'.

Got to hand it to BMW. They seem to be the only manufacturer taking it seriously. Yes, I know that everyone else is making efforts, but I sense that a lot of it is to meet govt. imposed emission levels. BMW though are devising their own low REE motors, looking to incorporate fuel cells in the mix and developing their own battery systems:
