when that law was made it was made by Poms Irish and Scotsmen who would not have been Australians. These people formed our current Political System
towie,I've heard that view quite a lot. The reality though is that our founding fathers believed they were creating the Constitution for a new independent society free to make their own laws independent from the strictures of colonialism, just as the USA had done. As if the Irish and Scottish Australians would have wanted the possibility of English citizens sitting in our Parliament making our laws. Nevertheless, all Australians are now welcome in our Parliament, they just need to renounce any foreign citizenship. I really don't see the problem here.
