Certainly did Hudge, plenty of truth in it IMO. Maybe one of the banks was Bank of America, so they could cash up to buy ML???
Who knows, but the whole thing stinks. The SEC and CFTC are SO complicite in this stuff its going to have to come back and bite them one day. Regulation of the market for their theiving mates. You can just imagine a 'Presidents Working Group on the Financial Markets' meeting.
Hanky: Right, some of our boys are in big trouble and they'll go down soon if we don't do something
Helicopter: Can't help you this time Hanky, already got real rates negative
Hank: Damnit Benny, how bout just a little lower.
Helicopter: Nope, but we could take all your rubbish assets in exchange for billions of free dosh.
Coxe: Just set up another thrashing of the precious metals Hanky baby. We can make 'em billions
Hanky: Splendid idea. We'll burn all those bastards who are betting against me..uh I mean us. But most of my buddies don't have enough to stump up the margins we'd need.
Chilts: Just get JP's and one or two others to do it on their behalf. Benny'll make sure they've got enough cash
Helicopter: No dramas there, but it'll look a bit sus, too concentrated
Chilts: Stuff 'em, who are they going to complain to...us? We'll just bash out some form letters about how we'll 'look into it'
Hanky: Hell yeah, and Bennie and I'll drag out Dubya and we'll bone the crap out of the Peso so the hedgies'll cover their Peso shorts
Coxe: Tell ya what, how 'bout we ban naked shorts in the financials as well. That'll get the hedgies on our side quick smart
Hanky: Thats genius big Coxe
Helicopter: Geez you guys are clever
Hanky: Nothin to it Bennie boy, all in a day's work. Grange anyone?
Oh to be a fly on the wall.........
