Much has been said about the increase in the number of rentals in Perth. On closer inspection and searching realestate.com.au you will see that the number of units for rent around central Perth has exploded. The rentals are increasing and at the same time buyers are signing up for off the plan units in the same areas. I never buy units. They are cheaper entry but in the long run they are crap. The land is what goes up for capital gains. The rents for units may get you a higher yield but the turnover and vacancies are the killers. NEVER BUY UNITS.
and even more so. NEVER, EVER BUY HOLIDAY RENTAL UNITS.
