Disclaimer, no expert. However, at the expense of dumbing down the physics problem of our time, I did read that it is about both qubits but also control (which I guess in a simple way relates to accuracy). With good control it's theorised that fewer qubits are needed. But the control part of the equation is the difficult part in all of this, not the qubits. There are some companies out there that are attempting devices with over a thousand qubits as a way to mitigate less than adequate control. So it's kind of a push and pull equation.
The question for me is: what metrics should we be looking at to assess axe's progress toward an ample level of control? And what impact does our patents have on this control.
I'm new here so I apologise if there are actual boffins that have posted a lot more technical stuff (before me) ...
