The MOU really only gives the chinese (Guang Ye) an exclusive right to come and have a look for 6 months during which JRV can't "deal with" any other chinese entity.

It is a long way from negoatiations about a JV....all we can assume is that the board of JRV considered their interest strong enough to agree not to talk to anyone else for 6 whole months...a big call as if it comes to noghting they will have sat on their hands for half a year....and how can they have that confidence when the MOU was signed really only days after Guang Ye first heard about JRV at some NSW government gabfest.

...only 8 days before the announcement about the MOU the board had reported in its quarterly that "little of substance has emerged so far" in relation to its search for a joint venture partner.

This does not sound like a considered move by either party to the MOU ...more like grasping at straws in the wind and clearly this was the only one floating by.
